Topic: Retirement

- The ability to retire 'comfortably' is subject to too many interpretations

- Aside from laziness, poor planning and criminal activity, many people are just not able to save sufficient funds to retire (food, housing, clothes, etc)

- a person may have to work until they are much older, and literally work until they die because cannot afford to stop working

- many people on the street or living in bad housing situation or using food banks

- many other people leaving the country because due to taxation and other 

policies they can only afford to live in a foreign country but would prefer to stay in their hme country near friends and family

- a basic retirement amount is available to all persons from the age of 65

- remember that other people are not responsible for providing you

        with a place to live and money to buy food, clothes and provide

        you with a 'comfortable' retirement lifestyle.

        However, things happen during a person's life which sometimes 

             leads to little or no ability to fend for themselves at the end

             of their working life.

- this program provides access to housing, food, and other resources

        needed by a typical person to survive. Not funds for entertainment

        or automobiles, or vacations or fancy clothes, or restaurants.

- It also assures a person does not have to live on the street

- It is the same amount for everyone, regardless of their financial 

               situation.

        EG// a person who has little or nothing will have a place to live,

                 and funds to purchase food and other basic necessities of life.

        EG// a person who is well off financially could also make use of the 

                 housing and other benefits directly, or simply have the funds

                 deposited into their account and use them how they see fit.

- Remember this is not a program to help poor people, is is a retirement

        benefit that is available to all citizens, equally.

- Qualifications:   must be a citizen, reached whatever the current age is

                                for claiming the retirement benefit, and have no 

                                persons under the age of maturity they are responsible for

 *this is intended for people who have lived in and contributed to our

               society (see notes below).

* certain provisions are set so immigrants cannot come into the country only to take advantage of this retirement benefit.

        so- part of the process for becoming a citizen

                includes that the person must be at least  10 years of age under 

                whatever the current legal retirement benefits age is, and they

                are providing for themselves and those they are responsible for.
